GW01 Deployment

When initially deploying a GW01 device, the device will advertise it's own specific Wi-Fi Access Point, you must connect to this access point and browse to 192.168.99.1 to connect the device to the network and configure it's MQTT Service settings, follow these steps to get started

  1. Look for a Wifi access point with the name "GW-<MacAddress>
  2. Connect to WIFI access point with name "GW-<MacAddress:>
  3. Once Connected, Open a web browser and go to http://192.168.99.1

You should now see the GW01 login page, by default there is no password set so set the username to "admin" and click "login" and confirm the no password warning. Next you will need to configure the WIFI connection settings, Follow these steps

  1. Browse to the Network Tab
  2. Expand the "Wireless" row
  3. Find the "Available Access Pont" dropdown and select the desired WIFI network from the list
  4. Scroll down and find the "Key" textbox and enter the WIFI password
  5. (Optional): Set the Primary & Secondary DNS addresses
  6. Click "Save Profile"

The GW01 device will restart and attempt to connect to the WIFI network you selected, you should now be able to find it's IP address in your routers DHCP server OR if you set the GW01's IP Address to static, you should be able to browse to http://<GW01_IP_ADDRESS> to see the configuration page

GW01 Devices Require both Wi-Fi & BLE Firmware to be updated to 

  • WIFI Version: 3.7.0
  • BLE Version : 3.3.3

To Upgrade the WIFI Firmware from the initial version to v3.7.0 you must follow this process

  1. Select "LAN Mode"
  2. Set the "URL of Firmware" to - http://iot.beaconyun.com/download/thingoo/g1/g1-e-grapes/g1-e-grapes_wifi_v3.6.0.bin
  3. Click the "Save current Configuration" checkbox
  4. Click the "Upgrade" button and confirm
  5. Wait ~3 minutes for the upgrade to complete
  6. Navigate back to the "Other" tab
  7. Select OTA Upgrade
  8. Select Version Number v3.7.0
  9. Click the "Save Current Configuration" checkbox
  10. Click "Upgrade"
  11. Wait ~3 minutes for upgrade to complete
  12. Navigate back to the "Other" tab
  13. Select "Firmware Type" BLE
  14. Select OTA Upgrade
  15. Select Version Number v3.3.3
  16. Click Upgrade
  17. Wait ~3 minutes for upgrade to complete

After the firmware has been upgraded, ensure the Json Format is set correctly, follow these steps

  1. Navigate to the Service Tab
  2. Look for the "Data Format" dropdown
  3. Set the Data Format to JSON-RAW (Leave all checkboxes at their defaults)
  4. Click Apply
